The unofficial site of the Prosser Mustang girls basketball team. Sorry about the lack of updates but had some internet related issues that kept me from updating the page. Congratulations to the lady Mustangs for taking third place in the State Tourney. It was fitting end to the season and the lady Mustangs highest placing since they took 2nd in the '96-'97 season. It was also a sad day as it was also the last game in the red & white for five Mustangs. Jordan Brown, Sarah Concienne, Cally Mercer, Molly Field and Nancy Cornwell will all be greatly missed as they all played roles in the Mustangs getting to State over the past tow seasons. Good luck to you all! Head coach Daron Santo has some very good talent coming back as the lady Mustangs should pick up where they left off. Two starters will be back as Lacie French will be a senior and Tamara Jones will be just a sophomore. Others who played key minutes throughout the season include Kellie Wilson & Rachel Anderson who will be juniors and Tayshia Hunt who will be a sophomore. Click here for Tourney Bracket Congratulations to Jordan Brown for being selected to the 1st Team All-CWAC and Tamara Jones for being selected to the 2nd team. 3/8/08 - In Tacoma, the lady Mustangs came out with vengeance this afternoon as they clobbered the Elma Eagles 79 to 51 and earned the 3rd place trophy. The lady Mustangs came out red hot as they shot a blistering 64% from the field and led 24 to 8 after the first period, in the second quarter the Mustangs cooled off slightly and only outscored the Eagles by six for a 43 to 21 lead. The Mustangs would increase their lead by as much as thirty in the second half as Elma could never get much going. Tamara Jones led the way with 22 pts, and in her final game in the Mustang red Jordan Brown scored 15 pts with 10 rebs & 4 stls, while Lacie French added 12 pts & 7 rebs. Also, playing in their last game as Mustangs Sarah Concienne had 3 pts, 4 rebs & 5 assists, Cally Mercer had 8 pts & 4 rebs, Molly Field had 6 pts and the ever energetic Nancy Cornwell had 4 pts & 5 rebs. 3/7/08 - In Tacoma, the lady Mustangs ran into a very talented River Ridge team and fell 43 to 62. The Mustangs played well in the first quarter as the led the Hawks 9 to 8 after one and lead 13 to 11 a few minutes into the second, after that the the Hawks went on a 18 to 9 run to lead 29 to 21 at the half and the Mustangs could never recover. Tamara Jones lead the Mustangs with 16 pts & 6 rebs and Jordan Brown added 14 pts with 7 rebs & 3 stls.
