FOOTBALL - Moore isn't enough for Prosser
YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC PROSSER - This time around, Prosser wasn't as
fortunate against Class 2A power Pullman.
Kellen Moore threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns, but it still
wasn't enough as Pullman's J.C. Sherritt ran for 178 yards in leading the
Greyhounds to a 35-28 victory in the non-league game Friday night.
Last season, Prosser escaped with a 26-23 overtime victory at Pullman.
This time, Pullman pulled off the road victory behind Sherritt, who also
scored twice.
Quarterback J.T. Levenseller couldn't match Moore's production,
throwing for just 75 yards, but he did throw two touchdowns.
After Pullman built a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, the teams traded
scores the rest of the way, with Michael Thomas' 1-yard run in the fourth
quarter proving to be the difference, giving Pullman a 35-21 lead.
Moore was 26 of 44, but Pullman shut down Prosser's ground game,
limiting Ivan Merino to just 28 yards on 18 carries. As a team, the
Mustangs had minus-5 net yards rushing.
