2007-2008 Mustang Girls game recaps
2/23/08 - In East Valley, the lady Mustangs saved their best for tonight as they pulled off the CWAC upset of the season as the Mustangs beat the #4 ranked Othello Huskies in spectacular fashion 61 to 43. The Mustangs played some great D and frustrated the Huskies all night as Prosser jumped out to a 20 to 5 lead, but Othello would try to come back as they managed to pull within ten at the half 19 to 29. The lady Mustangs would not be denied as the outplayed the Huskies in the second half and scored 32 to Othello's 24 to win 61 to 43. Tamara Jones had big night as she scored 27 pts, Jordan Brown added 15 pts & Cally Mercer put in 6 pts.
2/21/08 - At Bowden Court, the lady Mustangs looked like they were going to trample the Wolves this night as they jumped out to a 24 to 11 1st quarter lead. Wapato would have none of it as they went on there own run to pull within four and trailed 37 to 33 at the half. The lady came out strong in the second half and outscored their opponents by two & one in the 3rd & 4th quarters and pulled out the win 65 to 58. Tamara Jones had a hot hand in the first half as she scored 18 of her 25 pts in the 1st half, Lacie French added 14pts and Jordan Brown put in 9 pts.
2/16/08 - In Selah, the lady Mustangs got off to a hot start as they outpaced the Vikings 21 to 14 after the first quarter and 17 to 12 in the second and never looked back as they sank the Vikings 70 to 56. With the victory the Mustangs secured the 4th seed to districts. Tamara Jones was hot once again with 25 pts, Jordan Brown & Molly Field each put in 12 pts and Lacie French contributed 11 pts.
2/12/08 - At Bowden Court, in front of a packed house the lady Mustangs pulled off a CWAC stunner as they downed the 1st place lady Bulldogs 52 to 49. Tamara Jones had a big night as she put in 26 pts, Jordan Brown added 12 pts & Lacie French chipped in 9 pts.
2/9/08 - In Grandview, the lady Mustangs came out strong and put a 17 to 9 spot on the Greyhounds in the first quarter, but the pesky Greyhounds would not go away and battled 16 to 15 in the second quarter and 18 to 17 in the third quarter. The Mustangs would hit their free throws down the stretch as Jordan made four in a row at one point and the lady Mustangs held on for a 70 to 63 win. Tamara Jones led all Mustang scorers with 23 pts & 11 rebs, Jordan Brown had a good game with 18 pts & Lacie French came back from her off night against Othello and added 10 pts.
2/8/08 - At Bowden Court, in a thriller the lady Mustangs could not come up with enough magic as they fell to Othello 75 to 79. The Huskies jumped out to 16 to 26 first quarter lead, but the Mustangs would not lay down tonight as they went on their own 25 to 11 run to take a 41 to 37 halftime lead. In the third quarter both teams played to a 59 to 59 tie, but the Huskies would then hold off the Mustangs down the stretch. Jordan Brown led the Mustangs with 27 pts, Tamara Jones put in 24 pts & Cally Mercer chipped in 11 pts.
2/4/08 - In Ephrata, the lady Mustangs continued on fire as they jumped out the gate and outscored the Tigers 39 to 16 by halftime. The Mustangs slowed down a little in the second half as they went on to win 69 to 38. Tamara Jones scored a season high 27 pts, while freshman Tayshia Hunt added 9pts in the win.
2/1/08 - At Bowden Court, there would be no slow start tonight for the lady Mustangs. Prosser came out of the gate on fire and led 25 to 5 after the first quarter and 45 to 17 at the half. The relentless Mustangs keep the pressure on for the rest of the game as they would not let Toppenish get into any rhythm. The lady Mustangs would out score their opponent 41 to 14 in the second half on their way to a 86 to 31 whipping of the Wildcats. Jordan Brown led the lady Mustangs with 26 pts, Tamara Jones added 20 pts and Lacie French put in 10 pts.
1/26/08 - In Wapato, I don't know if the Mustangs were still coming off the high from the win over the Red Devils the night before or if it was the weather, but the lady Mustangs didn't play to their full potential this night. After falling behind 11 to 22 after the first quarter, the lady Mustangs went on a 18 to 9 run in the second quarter to trail only 29 to 31 at the break. The lady Mustangs still couldn't capture their spark back in the second half and could never get full momentum going and fell to the lady Wolves 61 to 67. Unofficially Lacie French continued her terrific season with 17 pts, Jordan Brown had 14 pts and Tamara Jones added 14 pts.
1/25/08 - In Moxee, in what looked like it might be another slow start for the Mustangs, the Red Devils jumped out to a 13 to 5 lead, but the Mustangs answered back with their own 16 to 4 run in the second to lead 21 to 17 at the half. In the second half the two teams played each other close as the Mustangs outscored the Red Devils 17 to 16 in the third quarter and 14 to 13 in the fourth quarter as they avenged an earlier season loss with a 52 to 46 win for a big victory. Jordan Brown led the Mustangs with 22 pts and Lacie French put in 12 pts.
1/19/08 - At Bowden Court, Quincy played the Mustangs tough in the first half as they only trailed 31 to 21, but the Mustangs trapped the Jacks in the third quarter as they limited them to 6 pts. In the end Quincy fell to lady Mustangs 66 to 41. Lacie French led the way for the Mustangs with 16 pts, Tamara Jones added 13 pts, Tayshia Hunt chipped in 11 pts and Jordan Brown put in 9 pts.
1/18/08 - At Bowden Court, the lady Mustangs came out on fire in the second half after leading only 29 to 27 at the half. The Mustangs went on a 23 to 6 run in the third quarter to give them what appeared to be a safe lead, but the Vikings would not go sailing into the night quietly as they outscored the Mustangs 28 to 16 in the fourth quarter. The lady Mustangs hit some key free throws down the stretch and went on to win 69 to 62. Jordan Brown played another fantastic game as she led the Mustangs with 23 pts, followed by Tamara Jones with 19, Lacie French with 8 pts and Molly Field with 7 pts.
1/15/08 - In Ellensburg, the lady Mustangs got behind early 23 to 39 at the half and rallied in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Bulldogs by twelve but it was not enough to comeback as they fell 60 to 70 to Ellensburg. Jordan Brown & Tamara Jones each had 12 pts to led the Mustangs and Lacie French put in 11 pts.
1/11/08 - At Bowden Court, the lady Mustangs got off to a slow start as they trailed the Greyhounds 12 to 14 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Mustangs kicked it into high gear as they went on a 28 to 8 run to lead 40 to 22 at the half and went on to win 77 to 57. Jordan Brown and Tamara Jones led the Mustangs with 20 pts each, while Lacie French kicked in 12 pts.
1/5/08 - In Othello, the lady Mustangs got off to a slow start (11 to 25 after the first period) and could never full recover even after outscoring the Huskies in each of the last three periods, but fell 59 to 64. Tamara Jones led the lady Mustangs with 20 pts & 11 rebs, Rachel Anderson put in 13 pts and Jordan Brown scored 8pts.
1/4/08 - At Bowden Court, this game was over at the half as the lady Mustangs opened the game with a 16 to 0 run on their way to a 47 to 12 halftime lead. The final score was 65 to 32 in favor of the Mustangs, who were lead by the still hot shooting Lacie French who put in 16 pts, Jordan Brown added 15 pts and Tamara Jones chipped in 11 pts.
12/28/07 - The lady Mustangs went on a 3rd period 13 to 8 run to break away from a 24 to 24 tie to win 57 to 45. Jordan Brown led the lady Mustangs with 18 pts & 9 rebs, while Lacie French put in 15 pts, and Molly Field contributed 8 pts.
12/20/07 - Lacie French was "en fuego" for the lady Mustangs on the night as she scored the first 6 pts and 23 pts overall as the Mustangs crushed the Wildcats from Toppenish 72 to 35. Lacie French led the way with 23 pts & 5 steals, Nanci Cornwell & Jordan Brown each added 10 pts each & Tamara Jones chipped in 9 pts & 6 rebs.
12/18/07 - After scoring just 2 pts in the first quarter, the lady Mustangs out scored the Eagles 36 to 28 over the second & third quarters to take down Connell 53 to 42 in non league play. The lady Mustangs were led by Tamara Jones with 16 pts, Molly Field put in 14 pts & Jordan Brown added 11 pts.
12/15/07 - The lady Mustangs overcame a sluggish 1st quarter and out scored Wapato 25 to 12 in the 2nd quarter to win 72 to 61. Unofficially the Mustangs were lead by Tamara Jones with 22 pts, Jordan Brown with 16 pts, Rachel Anderson had 12 pts and Lacie French added 9 pts.
12/14/07 - The lady Mustangs battled to the very end with the Red Devils, but fell in a thriller 55 to 56, the rim was not kind to the Mustangs on this night. The Mustangs were led by Jordan Brown with 12 pts, Tamara Jones added 11 pts & 6 rebs, Molly Field chipped in 9 pts & Kelli Wilson & Lacie French contributed 8 pts each.
12/7/07 - The lady Mustangs jumped out to a 21 to lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they downed the Jackrabbits of Quincy 74 to 36. Jordan Brown led the way for the Mustangs with 22 pts, Kelli Wilson added 14 pts & Lacie French added 11 pts.
